ASTEROIDS

Keagan, Shawn M, Martin

HOW THEY FORM?
Asteroids form by parts of planets that have broken off and joined with other planet pieces.
Some asteroids were formed billions of years ago when our solar system was first formed. These asteroids are still out there floating around until they
are caught in a gravitational field by a planet and have a collision.

WHAT CAN ASTEROIDS DO?

Some asteroids can destroy a whole planet but because of jupiter asteroids don`t hit earth, the moon also stops smaller asteroids from hitting earth. the studies on the moon shows craters from past asteroids that have hit the moon, if it wasn't for the moon and jupiter we would have been hit by many asteroids.
